You can’t mistake an Elsa Peretti design - they’re elegant yet bold, contemporary while perennially chic. Tiffany wanted us to celebrate her work in a campaign with The Sunday Times Style. From the statement Bone Cuff to the eclectic Bean collection, Peretti’s Tiffany & Co. pieces have transcended trends to become design classics.
“For me, nothing is new. Good lines and forms are timeless,” Peretti says. Taking her inspiration from nature and organic forms - beans, bones and flowers – her jewellery is defined by its sensual shape.
Peretti’s early Tiffany & Co. collections ushered in a new era in accessible jewellery. It was all about taking precious metals and stones, and making them wearable day or night. Later, she began experimenting with colour, using the centuries-old tradition of layering lacquer over Japanese hardwood to create her collection of evocative bangles. Irrespective of material, Peretti’s designs, like their maker, remain fresh and contemporary.
